A Bunch Of Lines That Don't Rhyme
I do not look upwards.
For there is the sky
The sun, the stars,
The horizon.
My eyes are downcast.
I look at the ground.
I do not see where I walk.
I do not see where I am going.
Where do I go?
I do not see.
I do not look at the sky.
My eyes are downcast.
I do not see the horizon.
A Bunch Of Lines That Don't Rhyme
I do not look upwards.
For there is the sky
The sun, the stars,
The horizon.
My eyes are downcast.
I look at the ground.
I do not see where I walk.
I do not see where I am going.
Where do I go?
I do not see.
I do not look at the sky.
My eyes are downcast.
I do not see the horizon.

You know, I've got a confession; I've read this poem at least 5 times now and haven't got around to commenting on it. I just keep coming back, reading it, not having much to say, and thinking, "I'll do it later."
A poem like this deserves a comment.
I could say that it's horrible depressing, but that's not your style. Actually, the lines make me smile, especially the last one. Maybe you don't see the horizon, but it's still there. *finishes stating the obvious* :D

I guess you're right about the horizon. It's just that I don't often look very far ahead, plans for the future-wise.
I wasn't feeling very cheerful when I wrote it, though. When that happens, and when I'm thinking about why I'm not cheerful, I tend to look downwards a lot more. The words started to bubble up, and I wrote the poem not long afterwards.
