Because when you end up having an exciting week at work, everyone will be all, "Whoa! Boring, boring... boring... boring, boring... BAM! Excitement!" :P

It's a good point. When something interesting does happen people will flock here in droves to say:
"Hey, wow, that whinging guy had some fun! Is it The Apocalypse already?"
