Suffering

I really hate hayfever. It's not so bad today, after the cooler night and the rain, but yesterday it felt like my head from the nose upwards was filled with a reservoir of water that never ran out, and that the sneezing and nose-blowing never stopped for twelve hours straight.

Lovely.

New Look!!

Seems Blogger decided to mess with my template a bit, making the text of my posts bigger than I'd like. So, here we are with a new template.

Hopefully I won't miss the old look too much. And the handful of people who read this thing won't either. I can always alter the colour scheme a bit later.

Was sunny earlier, now
It's chucking it down.

I Disagree

I admit, I had to look up the relative values of nickels and dimes. Since the test assumed an American viewpoint, I do not feel this was cheating at all. And it only applied to the one question, anyway.

Your IQ Is 125

Your Logical Intelligence is Above Average
Your Verbal Intelligence is Genius
Your Mathematical Intelligence is Genius
Your General Knowledge is Exceptional

Just A Ride

I really like this song.

Life, it’s ever so strange
It’s so full of change
Think that you’ve worked it out
then BANG
Right out of the blue
Something happens to you
To throw you off course
and then you

Breakdown
Yeah you breakdown
Well don’t you breakdown
Listen to me
Because

It’s just a ride, it’s just a ride
no need to run, no need to hide
It’ll take you round and round
Sometimes you’re up
sometimes you’re down
It’s just a ride, it’s just a ride
don’t be scared
don’t hide your eyes
It may feel so real inside
but don’t forget it’s just a ride

Truth, we don’t wanna hear
It’s too much to take
Don’t like to feel out of control
So we make our plans
Ten times a day
And when they don’t go
our way we

Breakdown
Yeah we breakdown
Well don’t you breakdown
Listen to me
Because

It’s just a ride, it’s just a ride
no need to run, no need to hide
It’ll take you round and round
Sometimes you’re up
sometimes you’re down
It’s just a ride, it’s just a ride
don’t be scared
don’t hide your eyes
It may feel so real inside
but don’t forget it’s just a ride

Slowly, oh so very slowly
except that
there’s no getting off
So live it, just gotta go with it
coz this ride’s, never gonna stop

Breakdown
Don’t you breakdown
No need to breakdown
No need at all
Because

It’s just a ride, it’s just a ride
no need to run, no need to hide
It’ll take you all around
Sometimes you’re up
sometimes you’re down
It’s just a ride, it’s just a ride
don’t be scared now
dry your eyes
It may feel so real inside
but don’t forget enjoy the ride.

E-Mail Cutback

So, where I work in Andover, we've had two ways to get on the net. Our own Pcs have access through a controlled internet gateway thing, which prevents access to "filthy things", all online e-mail sites like Hotmail and Yahoo, and a few other sites (no GeoCities sites, for some unknown reason). However, being in the IT department means we have another PC, not on the network, that allows us unrestricted access, very handy for checking our own e-mails.

Until now.

A few weeks ago the ISDN router it connects through Just Went Wrong. And, finally, after it got looked into, it was revealed that it would "cost too much" to see about repairing/replacing it, and it was "only" a "luxury" anyway.

End result? I can't check my e-mails while I'm in the office anymore. This actually annoys me far more than you might expect, and certainly more than it does everyone else. I would say it's completely out of order and needs sorting out, but I can't think of a good enough argument for getting it done beyond my own personal requirements, born entirely of my well-documented net addiction.

Useless bastards the lot of them.

Quiet week at work.
But today, a difficult
Problem; drove me mad.

I should have one of
Those holiday things. Can I
Survive no PC?
